We have been through some exciting developments!

As well as being a popular cafe, we believe that the Mustard Seed should be a place to share the Christian message, to be a resource for local people as well as for the many who visit for encouragement on life’s journey. We recognised that our premises were too small and did not allow us to provide the service and environment we would have liked.

In 2005 we had the vision to acquire and extend into the adjoining 3 room ground floor flat, using the additional space to:-

·         Create improved access for all

·         Improve the eating area

·         Increase space for merchandise

·         Enlarge the cramped kitchen area

·         Provide an indoor toilet facility

·         Provide space for confidential conversations

·         Provide much needed storage.

 

v  We praise God for the goodness and generosity of you, His people, whose giving has finally enabled us to achieve this vision by the summer of 2011! Your prayers, gifts and interest free loans have provided the finance, as well as the ability to already repay many of the loans, but we still need to repay the remainder.

v  We would therefore ask for your continued prayerful, financial and other appropriate support to enable this to happen, and the ministry to develop into the new opportunities before us.

v  We also give thanks for the many volunteers who help in the shop, and without whom we would not be able to continue.

LATEST NEWS (August 2011)

Building work started just after Easter and the cafe reopened on Thursday 28^th July, with the books, cards etc. being replaced shortly afterwards. Additional stock will now become available.

This a much larger shop, more comfortable for guests, with a larger modern and well equipped kitchen, a separate office and an indoor toilet with disabled and baby changing facilities

The renewed shop will be dedicated by Bishop Bob (Bishop of Crediton) on 3 September 2011 at 12 noon, and you are invited to join us.
